Have you ever sat down and made a list of all the different titles you have:
Woman, Wife, Lover, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Friend, Rancher,
Gardener, Pilot, Photographer, Quilter, Fly Fisherman, Lace maker,
Carpenter, Boy Scout Leader, Rock Picker, Government Employee…
And that’s just a start. I’m also a:
Lutheran, Democrat, Damn Independent (that pretty much describes me),
Volunteer, chauffeur, Cook, Baker, Candlestick Maker…
The list goes on.
I have always had a hard time telling people about myself and I’m afraid it’s not going to be any better here so I guess you’ll just have to read my stories and figure it out for yourself. I’ve been trying for almost 50 years and I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up. So if you figure it out would you please let me know.
Yes… I would like to know more about you.. happy to see a woman with so many titles…
🙂
I am honored and truely excited that there are others out there with the same ‘aflliction’. Seed Junkies unite! Thanks for the kind words.
Excellent blog!
I’ve been reading your blog for about a month now. I found Amy Kirk’s blog while doing a search for ranch women blogs and got your link from hers. I enjoy both of your blogs. I am a ranch woman from Nebraska. I recently entertained our older daughter as I accompanied her on a road trip back to school in Virginia (I flew home to Omaha, where I left my car and drove home) by reading entries from your blog on her smart phone as we drove. We can relate!
Thanks a bunch for the comment. I love hearing from people who actually understand what I’m talking about – and it sounds like you do. Glad I could keep you company on your road trip.

My husband found your blog-he is also a farmer here in Virginia. We have beef cattle from South Dakota and Montana. I write about our farm on my blog “Country Chatter-Life as I know It” phertzler.wordpress.com
Its great to hear from you – I can’t wait to check out your blog!
Just wondering if you were affected by the blizzard and if you could give us some first hand account. There is a lot of stuff being written and I know that if you can give us real story it would be much appreciated. From what I have seen so far it almost too hard to comprehend.
Got home and found your blog! Can’t wait to start reading it! So glad we had time to get to know each other better at the quilting retreat. I knew it….you are a Democrat and a liberal….ha! We are too….more moderate but NOT a crazy conservative….I’m going to look for some pictures of Ruby!
Hello! My name is Bridget. I’m the photo researcher at a small educational publisher in Minnesota. I came across your blog in my search for the owner of a particular image of the Gateway Arch. You have the image posted with an essay you wrote about your travels. The post is called “Lewis and Clark Trail, part 3”. Could you tell me if the image of the last piece going into the arch is yours? Or do you know who the owner is?
Looks like a great trip, by the way!
It is not my photo – it was a stock photo I found on the internet. I am not sure where I found it now so I’m sorry I can’t help you.
Ok, I understand. Thank you for the reply anyways. Cheers!
